DRY NEEDLING

WHAT IS DRY NEEDLING?

Dry Needling is a modern method used to ease muscular pain and is designed to stimulate trigger points, or muscles that are inflamed.

There is evidence to suggest that Dry Needling provides relief from  muscular pain and stiffness. In addition, easing the trigger points may improve flexibility and increase range of motion. Olivia uses this method to treat sports injuries, muscle pain, and even fibromyalgia pain.

WHAT DOES THIS INVOLVE?

During the Dry Needling treatment, Olivia will insert several filiform needles into your skin. Filiform needles are fine, short, stainless steel needles that don’t inject fluid into the body. That’s why the term “dry” is used.

Olivia will place the needles in “trigger points” or areas that are 'knotted' or hard to release this tension.

Is this the same as Acupuncture? Not quite. They are similar as both use needles however their aim is different. Acupuncture's main aim is to open up a person's energy flow or chi, whereas Dry Needling is an evidence based treatment which primarily focuses on muscularskeltal issues.

Dry Needling can treat specific areas such as;

ARTHRITIC PAIN

FIBROMYALGIA

PAIN RELIEF

MUSCLE TENSION, STRESS AND SPASMS

JOINT STIFFNESS

TRIGGER POINTS
